Giving Thanks in All Circumstances

Related imageIt is easy to limit our thanks to one day – thanksgiving – a holiday designated for us to give thanks to God for His many blessings. Or perhaps you grew up in a Christian home like I did and learned to say a heartfelt prayer. Personally, I’m very thankful for the legacy left to me by my grandmother and grandfather. They taught us to give thanks throughout our days, including at the dinner table before we sat down to eat for they knew many did not have the same privilege. Seek Ye First…Part 2

There are millions in this world who are craving pleasures,
of earthly things they can’t afford.
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I have found in Jesus Christ my Lord.

One day I was driving into Manhattan from Connecticut and I was praying and asking God for something else I felt was needed to make my life fulfilled.  I had a whole hour and a half, just driving and talking to the Lord and LISTENING  (for a change).  The Lord began to show me that I was the problem.  Of course, my first response was – “Uh excuse me, I am saved, I pray, I go to church, I am good! What do you mean I am the problem?!?!”

My Journey with the Shepherd: Part 2 – Verse 2 & 3 – Safety in my Shepherd’s Arms!

Safe in His Arms – by Vicki Winans

Because the Lord is my shepherd, I have everything I need!

He lets me rest in the meadows grass And He leads me besides the quiet stream.

He restores my failing hands And helps me to do what honors him the most

That’s why I’m safe

I feel so safe

That’s why I’m safe

Safe in His arms

My Journey with the Shepherd: Part 1 – Verse 1 – MY Shepherd

So I’m a nerd…LOL!!! I love learning and my ALL TIME FAVORITE subject to learn about is GOD! When something intrigues me and sparks my interest, I really endeavor to become a student of the subject matter and I go in to research.  I like looking at something at various different angles to get a fuller understanding of the concept. When Psalm 23 caught my attention, as if it was the first time, I knew I had to take my time with this one. So today, let’s focus on Verse ONE!!! Seek Ye First… Part One

Like the woman at the well,

I was seeking for things that could not satisfy.

And then I heard my Savior speaking –

“Draw from MY WELL that never shall run dry”

There is something, I would say, we all do as human beings; however, I think women do it more often, as we tend to be more emotional, more instinctual and we internalize things much more.  The fact that we possess these traits is why we appear to be more in tune with God than men. But like I said, I believe it is also why we tend to do this more often than men do. What I am alluding to is that we are always looking for someone or something to make our lives better.  Continue reading “Seek Ye First… Part One”

The Power of Interpretation!

Interpretation belongs to God! This is an awesome, dynamic, powerful, and any other word you can think of that would describe a life-changing, mind shifting Word of God!. Take a listen to this message; afterward, we have a few discussion questions that we would love you to answer. We would love to generate a rich dialogue on this topic as it relates to us being able to see life “Through His Lens!” God Bless!  Continue reading “The Power of Interpretation!”

Where are you looking?!?!?! Your growth depends on it!

Read Exodus 3

So this is a story about Moses…we all know Moses right?!?! He’s the “Let my people go!” guy from the Prince of Egypt…SMILE!!! No, in all seriousness, those four words spoken by Moses are super powerful and they represent so many wonderful things for the Children of Israel and ALL the people of God! Some of its significance will be highlighted in this blog and others will surface in future writings on this passage.  So back to Moses….he’s a really special guy, in fact, we learn that his name means “’Pulled Out’ – Because I drew him out of the water.” (Exodus 2:10) [That’s a super deep concept of foreshadowing that we just can’t cover today…but eventually…SMILE!!]. All throughout this book we learn and experience ways in which Moses’ name is exemplified as him being “Pulled Out”, Set Apart, CHOSEN! Moses has a work to do for the Kingdom of God and through this book, we find out how he embraced that fact. Continue reading “Where are you looking?!?!?! Your growth depends on it!”
